WHO WE ARE
BRIDGING SPORTS SCIENCE AND REAL-WORLD COACHING
Optimum Performance Athletics provides structured, individualized training designed to improve strength, speed, power, explosiveness, biomechanics, and overall athletic performance.
What sets OPA apart is the integration of coaching experience, exercise science, technology, and performance data. Velocity-based training, jump testing, timing systems, and biomechanical analysis turn how an athlete actually performs into a purposeful plan for where they can go.
Certified
USATF Level II in the jumping events · USA Weightlifting.
Degrees
Graduate degrees in Sport Management & Leadership and Human Anatomy & Physiology Instruction.
Athletes
Developing youth and high school through NCAA D-I, II, III, NAIA, and international competitors.

WHAT WE DO
FOUR WAYS TO TRAIN WITH US
PERIODIZATION
TRAIN FOR THE PHASE YOU'RE ACTUALLY IN
Training the same way year-round leaves performance on the table. Each package targets the physical qualities that matter most right now — and hands off cleanly to the next phase.
PHASE 1
General Preparation
Build the foundation. Work capacity, general strength, movement quality, and volume tolerance come first, so the specific work later in the season has something to sit on. Highest training volume of the year, lowest specificity.
Work capacity · General strength · Movement quality
Volume: high
Intensity: moderate
4–8 weeks
PHASE 2
Strength & Power Development
Convert that foundation into force. Maximal strength work feeds into rate-of-force development, plyometrics, and sprint mechanics — the qualities that decide takeoff velocity and how much of your approach speed survives contact with the board or the bar.
Max strength · RFD · Plyometrics · Sprint mechanics
Volume: moderate–high
Intensity: high
4–8 weeks
PHASE 3
Event-Specific Performance
Sharpen the event. Approach development, rhythm and takeoff mechanics, full and short approach jumping, and event-specific power work — with video analysis used to make technical changes stick under speed.
Approach · Takeoff mechanics · Event-specific power
Volume: moderate
Intensity: high
4–8 weeks
PHASE 4
Championship Competition
Peak when it counts. Volume drops, quality stays high, and recovery is programmed as carefully as the training — so you arrive at the championship meet fresh, technically sound, and ready to compete on the day that matters.
Taper · Competition readiness · Recovery
Volume: low
Intensity: high, low density
4–8 weeks

TRACK RECORD
ATHLETES DEVELOPED, MARKS MOVED
Hawai‘i
Developed young athletes into state championship podium finishers.
3× Gatorade
Worked extensively with a three-time Hawai‘i Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
World stage
That athlete became a multiple-time state champion and record holder before earning a berth to the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships.
Across levels
State champions, state medalists, school-record holders, collegiate and national-level competitors.
